MYOUTHCLIMATE
Fostering Knowledge and Climate Change
Literacy for Malaysian Youth
•The main goal of the program is to empower Malaysian youth towards climate literacy through developing climate education tools and building knowledge in climate change.
•This is done by providing education tools in climate action essential, building up a proper climate action knowledge to improve awareness and adjustment of behaviours towards persuading the whole society in implementing adaptation and mitigation projects
OBJECTIVES
1) To develop climate change education tool kit: interactive informal module e-learning that specifically design for educators, youth, and students.
2) To build up youth knowledge, attitude and skills capability in climate action: one-day climate change conference for youth.
TARGET GROUPS
The target group for MYouthClimate program are detailed out as follows:
1. Primary and secondary teachers/ youth educators
2. Teacher training instutions
3. STEM educators
4. Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) involved in the development and implementation of non-formal education programmes
5. Researchers working on education issues related to climate change
6. Interested citizens/youth/students
MYOUTH CLIMATE PROGRAM
•MYouthClimate program is divided into two phases:
-Development of climate action e -learning tool kit and one day youth conference in climate change.
The first phase of MYouthClimate program is the development of interactive e learning module that specifically design for educators, youth, primary and secondary school students comprising general topics on climate change and climate change education, including causes,impacts, mitigation, and adaptation strategies. The aim of this e learning module is intended to attract an interest from young generation wanting to learn more on climate change using interactive tool.
The second phase of MYouthClimate program is to organize one-day virtual climate action conference for youth. The conference will organize many activities including, awareness talks by invited speakers, online quiz, online game, art competition, lucky draw and etc. The aim of this program is to raise awareness and interest from young generation in climate change subject and consequently to prepare them in adapting and mitigation the impact of climate change

Ts. Dr Nur Kamaliah is a Chairman for National Conference on MYouth Climate 2022. She is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Civil Engineering and Research Coordinator at the Research and Innovation Office, College of Engineering Universiti Teknologi MARA.
She is the sole recipient from University Teknologi MARA who successfully awarded with grant from MALAYSIAN NATIONAL COMMISSION FOR UNESCO in 2021 for Program MYouth Climate: Fostering Knowledge and Climate Change Literacy for Malaysian Youth.
The organization of this conference is part of her initiative in collaboration with MALAYSIAN NATIONAL COMMISSION FOR UNESCO to empower Malaysian youth on climate literacy and building knowledge in climate change.

Biography
•Ts. Dr. Nur Kamaliah Mustaffa is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia. She holds a PhD Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering (Sustainability in Construction) from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. She has been appointed as a Coordinator of Research for College of Engineering, Universiti Teknologi MARA in 2021. She is also a former of Co-Chairman of UiTM Sustainability Committee, Greenation@UiTM a special taskforce unit under UiTM Vice Chancellor project to lead the university effort towards achieving world class sustainable best practices organization. In addition, she also has been appointed as a Coordinator of Malaysian Academy of SME & Entrepreneurship Development (MASMED).
•She is currently leading a collaboration national project with Ipoh Local City Council in assisting the city council to develop the strategies, action plans and blueprints to transform the city into smart and low carbon. She is also leading a project on carbon reduction strategies in construction funded by Ministry of Education, Malaysia and has been involved in several project collaborations with public and private organisations (World Bank, Malaysia Development Bank, CIDB, CREAM and etc) mainly focuses on low carbon and sustainable development initiatives. She is registered as certified Malaysian Carbon Reduction and Environmental Sustainability Tool (MyCREST) Qualified Professional (QP) and Qualified Assessor (QA).
•She has more than 13 years accumulated teaching experience in the domain of construction engineering and project management including risk management, construction project management, construction technology, sustainability and environmental engineering and technology entrepreneurship courses and actively involved in publishing research outputs, paper reviewers, external panels and academic appointments at different institutional levels.
•Her research mainly concentrates on the area of sustainable development, low carbon development, sustainable impact assessment, green buildings, smart city, climate change and environmental management.
